What is the Olympic Order Award?
The Olympic Order was established in 1975 and is the highest award given under the Olympic Movement. Earlier the IOC usually awarded this award to athletes at the end of an Olympic Games, but this time Bindra has been honored before the start of the Paris Olympics 2024. At that time this award was given in three categories – Gold, Silver and Bronze, but in 1984 the silver and bronze categories were abolished. The last time an Indian received this award was in 1983 to Indira Gandhi.
