IND vs SL 2nd ODI: Sri Lanka defeated India by 32 runs in the second match of the ODI series. Most of the batsmen of Team India failed against spin. Sri Lankan spinner Jeffrey Vandersay bowled lethally. He brought the entire Indian team to its knees. Most of the players including Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer became victims of Vandersay. Rohit Sharma played a captaincy innings of 64 runs. But Vandersay did not spare him either. He became the biggest reason for Team India’s defeat.
Sri Lanka batted first and scored 240 runs. In response, the Indian team collapsed at a score of 208 runs. Rohit and Shubman Gill came to open for the team. During this, Rohit was out after scoring 64 runs in 44 balls with the help of 5 fours and 4 sixes. He was dismissed by Vandersay. India lost the first wicket at a score of 97 runs. By this time Sri Lanka’s condition was bad. But after this Vandersay made the team comeback. He dismissed Gill at a personal score of 35 runs.
Vandersay became the reason for Team India’s defeat –
Vandersay took the wickets of Virat Kohli, Shivam Dubey, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul. Kohli was out after scoring 14 runs. Dubey and Rahul were out on zero. Shreyas Iyer returned to the pavilion after scoring 7 runs. In this way Vandersay took 6 wickets for 33 runs in 10 overs for Sri Lanka. He became the main reason for the defeat of the Indian team.
Indian batsmen flopped against spin –
Akshar Patel played a courageous innings for India. He scored 44 runs in 44 balls. During this, he hit 4 fours and 2 sixes. Washington Sundar played an innings of 15 runs. The Indian team had faltered in the first ODI as well. That match somehow reached a tie. But in the second ODI, the team was defeated. The Indian batsmen appeared flop against spin.
