In the second Test being played between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur, Team India will take the field today (01 October) i.e. on the fifth and last day of the match with the intention of winning. With aggressive batting on the fourth day, the Indian team had shown the fans the hope of winning the match. Rohit Bigard’s explosive batting breathed life into a match that had become completely lifeless.
4 days have been completed in the match which started from 27th September, out of which 2 days were completely lost to rain. Due to rain on the first day of the match, only 35 overs of play could be completed. Then, due to rain on the second and third day, not a single ball was bowled in the match.
After this, on the fourth day something amazing happened. On the fourth day, Team India all out Bangladesh and batted aggressively in its first innings and scored 285/9 runs on the board in 34.4 overs and declared the innings. After declaring the innings, Bangladesh came on the field for the second innings on the fourth day itself.
Bangladesh trailed by 26 runs on the fourth day
On the fourth day, after declaring the innings, Team India invited Sri Lanka to bat. By the end of the fourth day, Bangladesh had scored 26 runs for 2 wickets in 11 overs. Guest Bangladesh is still 26 runs behind in the match. By the end of the day, Shadman Islam returned unbeaten after scoring 7 runs in 40 balls and Mominukal Haq returned unbeaten after playing 2 balls without opening the account.
Now it will be interesting to see on the fifth day how long Bangladesh plays and how much target it gives to Team India in how much time. If Team India all out Bangladesh till the first session on the fifth day, then the victory of host India will be almost certain. It will be interesting to see how much target Team India gets to win and how Rohit Brigade achieves it.
