While talking about the pitch for the Boxing Day Test, the pitch curator made an interesting statement. Journalist Vimal Kumar asked the curator about the Boxing Day Test pitch that this pitch also looks like other pitches. Responding to this, the curator said, “You cannot compare. These days all the pitches in Australia are different. In Perth there is pace, bounce and crack. In Adelaide there is swing at night with the pink ball. At Gabba there is fast and “Bouncy pitch.”
The curator further said, “For us it is about getting as much pace bounce as we can. Will it be like other pitches? ‘No.’ That’s the beauty of Australian cricket. So it won’t be like Perth. That’s what we want.
