241 run partnership between Smith and Head
After the fall of three wickets for 75 runs, there was a partnership of 241 runs between Travis Head and Steve Smith. Smith took his time in the beginning, but once settled in he looked like his old self. Smith had not scored a century in Tests since June 29, 2023, but he ended the century drought at Gabba. Smith returned to the pavilion after scoring 101 runs. 12 fours came off his bat.
While Smith batted with patience, on the other hand Travis Head batted stormily. Head was out for zero in the last three innings on this ground, but today he became a hero from zero. Head scored 152 runs in 160 balls. 18 fours came off his bat. Both Bumrah and Smith were dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah.
At one time Australia’s score was 316 runs for 3 wickets, but then Bumrah gave continuous blows and opened his claws. However, after 6 wickets fell for 327 runs, there was a half-century partnership between Alex Carey and Pat Cummins. Cummins was out after scoring 20 runs. Siraj sent him to the pavilion. Carey is scoring runs fast from one end. He is on 45 runs in 47 balls. Five fours and one six came from his bat.
Jasprit Bumrah once again bowled brilliantly for India. Bumrah took five wickets for 72 runs. For the second time in this series he has opened his claws. Apart from this, Mohammad Siraj took one wicket and Nitish Kumar Reddy took one wicket.
