ICC Plan B For Champions Trophy 2025: The Champions Trophy 2025 is to be played between 19 February and 9 March under the hosting of Pakistan. It is not yet clear whether the Indian team will tour Pakistan for the tournament or not. Even though the BCCI has not officially clarified this, but according to media reports, it is known that Team India is not in the mood to tour Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. Now the ICC has given a 440 volt shock to Pakistan and has prepared Plan-B for the tournament.
In fact, the ICC has approved a budget of about $65 million for the Champions Trophy in its recent Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Colombo. In this budget, the ICC has covered all the aspects that are currently under discussion. For example, the ICC has released the budget keeping in mind that if India does not tour Pakistan for the tournament, then some matches can also be hosted outside Pakistan. This was revealed in a report by Cricbuzz.
In this way, with its Plan B, ICC has obviously given a 440 volt shock to Pakistan. The schedule of the tournament has not been released yet, but Pakistan has prepared a draft schedule for the tournament keeping India in mind. According to the draft schedule, all the matches of Team India have been scheduled in Lahore. Team India has been placed in Group-1 along with Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand.
Team India did not visit Pakistan for Asia Cup
It is worth noting that Pakistan also had the hosting rights for the Asia Cup played in 2023, but Team India did not visit Pakistan for the tournament. The matches of the Indian team were played in Sri Lanka under the hybrid model. Now it will be interesting to see what the final decision is regarding the Champions Trophy.
