IC814 Controversy: There is a lot of controversy over the web series ‘IC 814’ based on the hijacking of Indian Airlines plane by Pakistan-based terrorist organization Harkat-ul-Mujahideen in 1999. Now the government has sent a summon to the content head of Netflix India and has asked for clarification.
Why was the summons sent
Let us tell you that this summons of the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has come after hundreds of social media users accused the makers of the web series of deliberately changing the names of the kidnappers to “Bhola” and “Shankar”. Netflix India’s content head Monica Shergill has been directed to appear before them on Tuesday, September 2 to give clarification on the alleged controversial aspects of the web series.
