UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has provided the facility to change the address in both online and offline methods. For biometric updates it is necessary to go to Aadhaar center but the address change can be done online from home.
Please tell that you can easily change your address on Aadhaar card, ie online. For this you have to go to the Myadhaar portal. According to UIDAI, it is necessary to get Aadhaar detail update every 10 years.
Go to the Myadhaar portal and login by entering your Aadhaar number captcha code and OTP. After login, click on the “Address Update” option. Then choose the “Aadhaar Online Update” option. Read all the guidelines and click on the “Proceed” button. Select your new address and tap on “Update Aadhaar”.
Enter a new address in online form. If necessary, add the name of father or husband to “Care of” (C/O). Select your nearest post office and upload the necessary documents. Check all the information correctly and pay ₹ 50. After the payment is successful, you will get a SRN number so that you can track the status of your update.
For your information, let us know that to update the address on Aadhaar card, you need documents like passport, bank statement/passbook, ration card, voter ID card, disability certificate, MNREGA or NREGA job card, electricity, water, gas, telephone or postpaid mobile bill, insurance policy or property tax receipt etc.
According to UIDAI, the address update process can take up to 30 days. Once you submit the application, you will get URN (Update Request Number) so that you can track your application status.
When Aadhaar is updated, you can download a new Aadhaar from UIDAI’s website. Keep in mind that your registered mobile number should be activated to download Aadhaar.
