Let us tell you that Tilak Verma has been playing for Mumbai Indians since 2022. MI franchise has retained him for IPL 2024 also. He will get a salary of Rs 8 crore for playing the next season, whereas in 2024 his salary was only Rs 1.7 crore. This means that Tilak’s IPL salary is going to increase four and a half times in a single season. On the other hand, he gets Rs 1 crore annually for playing for the Indian cricket team because he is included in the Grade C list of BCCI.
Got a gift after a good domestic season
Tilak Verma came into limelight by performing well in the 2021-2022 domestic season. That season, apart from scoring 180 runs in five matches of the first Vijay Hazare Trophy, Tilak also took 4 wickets. On the other hand, he scored 215 runs while playing 7 matches in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. After a stellar performance in the domestic season, he got the IPL contract as MI bought him in 2022 with a bid of Rs 1.7 crore. He was getting the same salary till now, but now he will get Rs 8 crore for IPL 2025.
