What does the Diabetes Biobank study say?
The first study of Diabetes Biobank is ICMR-Indiab, in which more than 1.2 lakh people from 31 states and union territories were included. In this, high rates of diabetes and pre-diabetes were found in India. It also came to light that diabetes is an epidemic in the country, affecting more than 10 crore people. The second study tracked the cases of diabetes found in youth. More than 5,500 participants were included across the country.
