In this study published in the US scientific magazine Nature Aging earlier this month, researchers analyzed data from 8 countries including Japan, South Korea, Switzerland and Hong Kong. These are all the countries where people live the longest. In this research, they found that between 1990 and 2019, the average aging rate was 6.5 years. In the 20th century, due to improvements in sanitation and the medical sector, the aging rate was 3 years per decade, but it has decreased in the last 30 years.
