HDFC Bank Fixed Deposit: The country’s largest private bank HDFC Bank has taken a big decision to please its customers. HDFC Bank has increased the interest rates on its fixed deposits (FD). The bank has given this benefit to the general customers-depositors because interest rates have been increased on FDs less than Rs 3 crore. Now on making FD in HDFC Bank, the general and senior citizens of the bank will get 0.20 percent or 20 basis points more interest. The bank has implemented these new interest rates from 24 July 2024, that is, now you can make FD at increased interest.
New FD rates for ordinary citizens
- HDFC Bank is offering interest ranging from 3% to 7.40% on FDs ranging from 7 days to 10 years.
- Ordinary citizens are being given 3% interest on FDs maturing between 7-29 days.
- Depositors are getting 3.50 percent interest on FDs maturing between 30 days to 45 days.
- The bank is offering a high interest rate of 7.25 per cent on FDs with tenures ranging from 18 months to less than 21 months.
- 4.50 percent interest is being given on FDs ranging from 46 days to less than six months.
- The bank is offering an interest rate of 5.75 per cent for FDs maturing between 6 months 1 day and less than 9 months.
- Deposits maturing between 9 months 1 day and less than one year earn 6 per cent interest.
- FDs maturing in a period of one year to less than 15 months offer an interest rate of 6.60 per cent.
- FDs maturing in 15 months to less than 18 months offer an interest rate of 7.10 per cent.
- The bank offers 7.25 per cent interest on FDs with tenures ranging from 18 months to less than 21 months.
- Deposits maturing between 21 months and less than two years and eleven months offer an interest rate of 7 per cent.

HDFC Bank’s special edition FD which gives more interest
HDFC Bank has informed on its official website that on which tenure of FDs customers can get higher interest. Higher interest can be obtained on HDFC Bank’s FD of 2 years 11 months (35 months) and FD of 4 years 7 months (55 months). Apart from this, this bank is giving 0.50 percent extra interest rate on FD to senior citizens.
HDFC Bank shares up more than one percent today
At 2 pm, HDFC Bank’s stock is trading at Rs 1623.15 per share with a gain of Rs 19.10 or 1.19 per cent. This morning, HDFC Bank’s stock was among the top gainers shortly after opening. The effect of the interest rate hike on fixed deposits by HDFC Bank from Wednesday is visible on the stock today and investors of this banking stock are making profits even in the falling market.
