The era of cassettes had begun in India in the 70s. Then Gulshan Kumar started his work by buying a shop selling cassette audio. There he also started singing devotional bhajans. After this, he also started recording songs and started selling songs to people by filling them in blank cassettes. He used to get 25 rupees for one cassette.

Soon Gulshan had established himself in the world of music. After this he started ‘Super Cassettes Industries’. Which is today known as T-Series. Let us tell you that T-Series is India’s largest music company. Its value is about Rs 3 thousand crores. Today it is being run by Gulshan’s son Bhushan Kumar.
T-series became famous with devotional songs, also produced films
Gulshan Kumar was a great devotee of Lord Shiva and Mata Vaishno Devi. He gave voice to many famous bhajans. His company T-Series got special and big recognition from devotional songs. After this, a film named ‘Lal Dupatta Malmal Ka’ was produced under T-Series. Which was released in the year 1989. Till now T-Series has produced many films.

Gulshan Kumar had a painful death
Gulshan Kumar is no more in this world today. He died a painful death in 1997. He was shot dead by underworld goons with 16 bullets outside Jiteshvar Mahadev temple in Mumbai. His death shook the entire country. The underworld had demanded ransom from Gulshan. But Gulshan refused to pay the ransom.
