Ground water extraction has done in excess from earth

Ground Water Extraction: In the last twenty years, groundwater has been exploited at a tremendous rate. Due to which the Earth’s axis has tilted by 31.5 inches. This has been revealed in a new study. According to which, due to redistribution of water, the sea level across the world has increased by 0.24 inches. This research has been published in Geophysical Research Letters. This research was done under the leadership of Geophysicist Kivian Seomat of Seoul National University. This research has revealed that due to climate-related factors, the inclination of the Earth’s rotation axis has increased due to redistribution of groundwater.

What is in the study?

According to a fact of this study, about 2150 gigatons of groundwater was extracted from the earth from 1993 to 2010. Due to this, the tilt of the Earth changed significantly. Most of this water was not used but ended up in the oceans. Due to which the sea level is rising.

According to the report of SEOMAT, the study of changes taking place in the Earth’s rotation revealed that the water level of water sources is changing. Let us tell you that the frozen water below the ground surface is called groundwater. It can also be called the invisible water reservoir of the earth.

What is the meaning of this inclination?

Because of this inclination, changes in the Earth’s climate are possible. According to NASA, the tilt of the Earth becomes the reason for changing weather. Earlier this inclination had come when an object named Theia collided with the Earth. Due to this collision the earth tilted. However, it is also being claimed that the inclination has occurred due to the water level in the earth. Because of that there will be no impact on the weather.
