Green Power International Partnership With Ntpc for Carbon Capture and Hydrogen Innovation Ann

India Green Energy Week 2025: Many big companies have participated in India Energy Week. These include the presence of companies especially in the hydrogen sector which are contributing to the growing steps towards green fuel, CO2 has an important role for green fuel, for which a large plant is set up. Giving information about the CO2 plant, Varun Puri, managing director of Green Power International, told about the ongoing work on carbon capture and hydrogen production projects.

Many big companies are strengthening their leading role in India’s clean energy sector. For this, many companies have strategic partnership with NTPC, focused on carbon capture and hydrogen production projects. The purpose of these initiatives is to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable energy solutions.

NTPC Vindhyachal Carbon Capture Project

Under this major project, the company is using Green Power International Advanced Post-Combination Carbon Capture Technology. According to the information received, CO is separated from flu gas through this process, so that it can be prevented from being excreted in the atmosphere. Captured co₂ can be purified and used for enhanced oil recovery, adaptation to green fuel or carbon sequestration.

This leads to a significant reduction in the carbon footprint of the power plant. In this process, flu gas containing co₂ is sent to an absorber column, where it comes in contact with a liquid solvent. It absorbs solvent co₂ and is then heated in a stripper, making co₂ free. Subsequently, pure co₂ is compressed for storage or other uses, while solvents are re -cycled.

Innovation in hydrogen production

Apart from carbon capture, many companies in India are working on several hydrogen production projects with NTPC. These projects focus on producing green hydrogen using renewable energy sources. Green hydrogen is a clean fuel, which is helpful in reducing the carbon emissions of hard-to-to-absorption areas such as steel, refining and transport. This is an important step towards achieving India’s Net-Zero emission target.

Development of carbon capture sector in India

India is emerging as a carbon capture sector of 2.8 billion tons, which reflects the country’s commitment to state -of -the -art techniques to reduce industrial emissions. Many companies in India are playing a leading role in this energy change with their expertise in areas such as carbon capture, hydrogen production, compressed bio gas (CBG) solution and gas-based power generation.
