Gopashtami 2024: The festival of Gopashtami is a festival dedicated to cows, which is celebrated on the Ashtami date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. On the day of Gopashtami, people bathe their cows and calves and decorate them with clothes and jewellery. Roli-sandalwood tilak is applied and flowers and garlands are offered. Along with this a lamp is also lit. The cows are fed Hari Khas and taken for parikrama. On this day, donations should be given to the cowherds as per their capacity. Worship of Gopashtami brings happiness, peace, prosperity and wealth to the house.
