How to do Ganesh Visarjan at home
Just like we happily send off our family members before they go on a journey, we should behave in the same way while sending off Ganpati Ji. Respectfully and humbly, ask for forgiveness for any mistake committed knowingly or unknowingly during the puja and then pray for his happiness and prosperity. Instead of immersing Bappa in a river, lake or pond, you can immerse him at home.
- On the day of Ganesh Visarjan, worship Bappa in a proper manner, offer kumkum, turmeric, mehndi, modak, flowers etc. Do Aarti.
- Take a bucket or tub keeping in mind the size of Ganpati. Clean it thoroughly.
- Pour enough water in the bucket so that Ganpati is immersed.
- After the idol of Bappa dissolves completely in water, pour this water in a pot. You can plant a plant seed in the soil of Bappa’s idol.
- When you take Ganpati for immersion, then tie all those things in a bundle and immerse it along with Ganesha.
- Whether it is an idol or statue of Lord Ganesha, immerse it in water slowly. Do not drop or throw it suddenly.
