Nikhil Advani Shocking Statement: Filmmaker Nikhil Advani, who is awaiting the release of his upcoming streaming series ‘Freedom at Midnight’, said that after the release of the show, he got interesting information about the voting for the post of the first Congress President.

Nikhil Advani has heard an interesting anecdote related to his series. He spoke to IANS and told that he came to know that the voting in favor of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was not done with everyone’s consent, but only one vote was cast in favor of Jawaharlal Nehru.
Information received from close to Sardar Vallabhbhai:
He told, “I met someone who was very close to Maniben Patel, daughter of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and he told me, ‘You people have misunderstood it because it says everyone’s wish. Sardar was not nominated with everyone’s consent’, he said, adding that it was not with everyone’s consent. There was one person who voted in favor of Nehru.”
Who cast the only vote for Nehru?:
The film maker said, guess who was the person who voted in favor of Nehru? He himself was Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The director further said, “This was Sardar, Sardar voted for Nehru. So this is very interesting. They were fantastic. I hope we have done it justice.”
‘Freedom at Midnight’ is based on the book of the same name by Dominic Lapierre and Larry Collins. This series tells the story of the inspirations, struggles and sacrifices of prominent people like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
