IPL 2025 SRH Retained Players List: As soon as BCCI released the retention policy for IPL 2025, the stir in the cricket world has intensified. Before the auction, each team will be able to retain a maximum of 6 players, but now former Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Tom Moody has made a big claim about Abhishek Sharma. Let us tell you that Abhishek made his international debut for India on the Zimbabwe tour this year.
It is worth noting that according to the new retention policy, a team can retain 2 players for Rs 18 crore, 2 players for Rs 14 crore and 1 player for Rs 11 crore. A team will have Rs 120 crore to build the team, in such a situation if a team retains 5 players then Rs 75 crore will already be empty from its purse before the auction.
Big statement on Abhishek Sharma
According to ESPN Cricinfo, former SRH coach Tom Moody said that Abhishek Sharma will be eyeing the Rs 14 crore slot in the retention list. He said, “According to me, Sunrisers Hyderabad is in trouble compared to other teams because I do not think that Abhishek Sharma would want to be retained for less than Rs 14 crore. If he comes in the auction then definitely the bid on him should be Rs 14 crore or more.” Can go up.”
He also said that SRH will have to choose its most important players very carefully. Tom Moody told that Hyderabad can probably retain Travis Head and Pat Cummins apart from Abhishek Sharma, after which they will also have the option of right to match.
Abhishek Sharma was retained by SRH for Rs 6.5 crore in the 2022 auction, after which he has been getting the same salary. Now if he is retained for Rs 14 crore, his salary will more than double. He scored 484 runs in 16 matches in IPL 2024 at a strike rate of more than 204. He also scored a century in his debut T20 series against Zimbabwe.
