Ingredients for Lauki Kheer
To make bottle gourd kheer, you will need some ingredients like one cup grated bottle gourd, two cups milk, one cup water, two tablespoons sugar, one teaspoon cardamom powder, two teaspoons finely chopped dry fruits and a little ghee. With the help of all these ingredients, you can make tasty bottle gourd kheer.
How to make Lauki Kheer
Now to make bottle gourd kheer, first of all wash the bottle gourd thoroughly and peel it. Now grate it and keep it aside, keep the grated bottle gourd covered for some time. Till then take milk in a vessel and let it boil on medium flame on the gas, when it boils well, then add the grated bottle gourd in it and let it boil on the gas for some time.
Now add sugar and cardamom powder as per taste and mix well and let it cook on low flame. After some time, if you want, you can add milk masala and add some dry fruits. You can also add ghee on top.
Now cook it for 10 to 15 minutes and then take it out in a bowl and put cashew and almond pieces on top. Your kheer is now completely ready. You can serve it to guests or offer it to God and you can also eat it hot on the day of fasting.
