Mohandas Pai, former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the country’s second largest IT company Infosys, has once again expressed his displeasure with the government. He made a strong comment on social media expressing his displeasure against the increase in tax burden on the middle class. He asked whether we (the middle class) are slaves of the Finance Ministry!
Infosys’ ex-CFO got angry at the mention of old things
In a post on social media X, the ex-CFO of Infosys said – There is no point in talking about the past years. The middle class is angry and is angry with the policies being made now after bearing the burden of debt for the last 10 years. Why was indexation removed in such an insensitive manner with retrospective effect, which caused so much resentment? Are we citizens of the country or slaves of the Finance Ministry?
Mohandas Pai’s suggestion to Modi government
Mohandas Pai suggested the government in Xpost that it should focus on the middle class. He said that the middle class taxpayers and citizens of India who have supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi the most need to be respected. They should not be insulted again and again by such one-sided insensitive policies.
The Finance Minister’s office made this update
He was recording his comment by quoting a post made on X by the office of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The Finance Ministry’s office had shared a clip of the speech given by the Finance Minister in Parliament, in which the Finance Minister is seen accusing the previous governments. She says – It is being said that we are not doing anything for the middle class and the middle class is angry with us. I want to tell them that at one time during the previous governments, there was 98 percent taxation. Those governments never paid attention to even the fundamental rights of the people.
@nsitharaman there is no point in talking about the past. The middle class is angry and upset at policies being thrust down their throat when they have borne the brunt of taxation for last 10 years. Why was indexation removed with retrospective affect in such an insensitive… https://t.co/MsaNpx1pNG

Infosys was also upset with the notice
