EPFO Data of May 2024: The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has released the data for May 2024. This data shows that jobs are increasing rapidly in the country. According to the data, 19.50 lakh members are associated with EPFO in May 2024. The special thing is that this is the largest number of people joining EPFO since April 2018. According to the data released by the Ministry of Labor, there has been an increase of 19.62 percent in the number of EPFO members as compared to May 2023.
9.85 lakh new members joined in May
According to EPFO payroll data, the number of new members has increased rapidly in May. A total of 9.85 lakh new members have joined EPFO in May, 2024. In such a situation, the number of new members has increased by 10.96 percent as compared to April, 2024. At the same time, an increase of 11.5 percent has been registered on an annual basis.
Youth are getting employment
According to the data, the share of youth in the age group of 18 to 25 years in the total new members during this period has been 58.37 percent. Most of these are people who have got jobs for the first time. The special thing is that since the release of payroll data, the maximum number of youth have got jobs in May 2024. In May, a total of 14.09 lakh people have left their jobs and joined elsewhere. Out of the new members, 2.48 lakh are women. A total of 3.69 lakh women members have joined EPFO in May 2024. In such a situation, there has been an increase of 17.24 percent as compared to May 2023.
Most members associated with these states
According to EPFO data, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Karnataka and Haryana have the highest number of members (58.24%). The highest number of new members (11.36 lakh) have joined from these states. Maharashtra has the highest number of members (18.87%). Most of the EPFO members are associated with engineering sector as well as building and construction, manpower supply and electronic media companies.
