Emergency Row: Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’ has been surrounded by controversies for a long time. A hearing was held today in the Bombay High Court regarding the release of the film. Meanwhile, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) told the Bombay High Court that Kangana Ranaut, who is the co-producer of the film ‘Emergency’, has agreed to the cuts suggested by the board.
According to Bar & Bench report, lawyer Abhinav Chandrachud, representing CBFC, made this argument before the bench of Justices BP Colabawala and Firdosh Pooniwala.
A petition was filed in the court to issue the censor certificate.
The High Court was hearing the petition of the film’s co-producer Zee Studios, in which a demand has been made to issue a censor certificate for the film. The petition was filed following a controversy in which it was claimed that the film misrepresents the Sikh community. According to the report, senior advocate Sharan Jagtiani, appearing for Zee Studios, told the bench that Ranaut had held a meeting with the CBFC and agreed to the suggestions regarding some cuts in the film.
