However, the poultry industry says that the reason for the increase in the price of eggs is not mainly due to them being exported to Bangladesh as Bangladesh is not one of India’s traditional export markets. West Bengal Poultry Federation has blamed the increasing demand for eggs in winter, rising cost of poultry feed and exports to countries like Bangladesh and Malaysia for the price rise. These countries are new markets for India from export point of view.
Order to send 5 crore eggs

Speaking to news agency PTI, Federation General Secretary Madan Mohan Maiti said, “Egg prices have increased not only in West Bengal but in the entire country. This has happened due to increase in the cost of poultry feed. There is no crisis or shortage of eggs in the country.
“Its retail price should not exceed Rs 7.5 per piece, as the wholesale rate is Rs 6.7 per piece,” he said. He also blamed the rise in the price of maize, which is used in poultry firms to feed chickens. It is in the form. There is demand for eggs from India in these countries also
Regarding export, he said that there was an order of 5 crore eggs from Malaysia and Bangladesh in November and December, but till now more than 2 crore eggs have not been sent. To keep the price stable in the domestic market, the government of Bangladesh has turned to India for import of eggs. There is demand for Indian eggs not only in Bangladesh but in many other countries like Oman, Maldives, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Qatar.
