Last Sunday I fell badly and got a head injury. Had to run for emergency medical care and then treatment. Despite it being a Sunday morning, I managed to get an ambulance, excellent care, tests and stitches within a few hours thanks to the efficient team at Jaslok Hospital..I was back home within 2.5 hours of the fall..
Apart from this, Radhika compared the medical infrastructure of the country with ‘very developed’ countries. The Edelweiss CEO said that even in developed countries, one has to wait for a very long time to get proper medical healthcare even during emergencies.
The Edelweiss CEO further wrote that she has seen medical emergencies in many developed parts of the world where waiting for hours on end at the ERS (Emergency Response System) is common. Even when your head is bleeding, medical care is not immediately available (despite paying a lot of money for insurance)…
