Diwali Lakshmi-Ganesh Puja 2024: Diwali or Deepawali is a union of 5 festivals, which starts with Dhanteras. Lakshmi Puja is also performed on the day of Dhanteras. Lord Vishnu broke the ego of Goddess Lakshmi
According to the legend, once Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi were discussing in Vaikuntha. Then the goddess said, I bestow wealth, prosperity, good fortune and prosperity. By my grace the devotee gets all kinds of happiness. Therefore it is best to worship me.
There was ego in Goddess Lakshmi’s words, which Lord Vishnu understood and decided to break her ego. Then God said – O Goddess! You are the best but still you do not have complete womanhood. Because unless a woman gets the happiness of motherhood, her womanhood is considered incomplete.
This is how Lord Ganesha became the adopted son of Goddess Lakshmi.
Hearing such words from Lord Vishnu, Mother Lakshmi became sad and told the whole thing to Mother Parvati. Then Mother Parvati handed over her son Ganesh to Goddess Lakshmi as her adopted son, which made Mother Lakshmi very happy. Mother Lakshmi said that any seeker will attain wealth, prosperity, success and opulence only when Lakshmi and Ganesha are worshiped together. Since then, on the day of Diwali, Lord Ganesha is worshiped along with Goddess Lakshmi as her adopted son.

In the scriptures, Mother Lakshmi has been called the goddess of wealth and prosperity. So Lord Ganesha is called the god of wisdom and prudence. By the grace of Goddess Lakshmi, devotees get the happiness of wealth, but without wisdom and prudence, they are not able to manage it. Therefore, Lakshmi and Ganesha are worshiped together on Diwali, so that man can attain wealth and without losing his conscience, man can accumulate wealth by using his intelligence.
