NPCI gave advice to avoid digital payment fraud
Due to attractive offers and discounts, people make huge purchases during the festive season. In this competition, many times users ignore checking the validity of the platform. NPCI has advised users to do adequate research about such sellers and those whose business is not trustworthy.
According to NPCI, during the festive season, the tendency of people to shop increases. Customers do not remember what they have ordered, which increases their chances of falling prey to phishing scams. In such a situation, it is advised to double check the payment link so that fake delivery modification can be avoided. Also, users have been asked to use strong, unique passwords to protect their accounts from hacking.
NPCI has asked citizens and users to be cautious about such platforms while doing research for making purchases and not to click on those that you have not heard about. Also, do not share too much personal information on these platforms. NPCI has advised users to avoid using unsecured public networks such as Wi-Fi in shopping malls.
