Review: ‘Will do anything for divorce’, if you feel that this series which is being streamed on ZEE5 from today is based on some serious issue, then wait because it is not so. Actually this is a light comedy series. So if you want to watch something light-hearted this weekend, then this series can be the first choice for you.
The story of ‘Will do anything for divorce’
The story is about an accidental marriage amidst the tussle going on inside a news channel. There is a competition between Nikki Kothari (Abigail Pandey), who is already working in a senior post in the channel, and newly arrived intern Ashu (Rishabh Chaddha) to become the prime time anchor. In this competition, both are trying to prove themselves in their respective styles in the office. The entire office is looking for entertainment amid the ongoing fight between them.
While trying to prove themselves in this war of fights and competition, both of them go against each other and get into big trouble while trying to report a report. Both of them get married accidentally, which they themselves do not know about. It is not possible that one does not know about one’s own marriage. But this has happened here. Now why this happened is the essence of the whole story. To know this you will have to watch the series.
How about ‘will do anything for divorce’?
The series is reminiscent of the 90s comedy serials that came on TV channels. The story has been woven in such a way that even in the times of competition, fights and cut-throat competition, there are opportunities for laughter. While watching the series, you will realize that an attempt has been made to woo the audience with a low budget by installing a small set.
This effort also works because while watching such shows, the audience also knows that there is no need to go too deep to have a light laugh in the middle of the fast-paced life. Shows like ‘Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain’ and ‘Lapataganj’ have also been liked in the same way.
The story is fast-paced, even in small episodes there are small incidents, which pass by very quickly. However, if you want to watch something very serious then it may bore you.
direction
Ankush Bhatt, who has made series like Maya Ka Moh and Smartphone, has directed it. He has kept the treatment of the entire show very light-hearted which you can watch with the family also.
However, at some places their research is less visible. Like the news channel doesn’t seem like a news channel at all. However, this will not make much difference to the audience because only a few of them will know the atmosphere inside the news channel.
Apart from this, there is one more thing which hurts. That is how an intern comes into competition with a senior post holder. And how his senior even accepts competition from him. All this seems childish.
acting
Rishabh Chaddha got recognition only when he was seen in Ajay Devgan’s hit film Drishyam. In this series he has done whatever he was asked to do. However, he is seen working hard while doing comedy. Due to which their impact is not much. But Abigail Pandey has played her role well. She looks flawless.
Overall, if you want to watch something very light-hearted, then this series is for you. But if you are looking for something special then the series may prove ineffective.
