Rishabh Pant Injury IND vs NZ 1st Test: Dhruv Jurel has replaced Rishabh Pant in the India vs New Zealand first test match being played in Bengaluru. Pant had a knee problem on the second day of the first Test match, due to which he left the field in the middle of the match. On the second day, Dhruv Jurel replaced Pant and took the responsibility of wicketkeeping. After that, Pant’s fitness became a matter of concern for everyone, but he could not take the field even on the third day.
Rishabh Pant was seen groaning in pain the next day, it was difficult for him to even walk without support. Captain Rohit has given update
After the end of the second day’s play, captain Rohit Sharma, while giving an update on Pant’s injury, had said, “We do not want to take any risk and Rishabh himself also does not want to take any risk. He had suffered an injury in the same injured leg earlier also. For which he has also undergone surgery. This was the reason why Rishabh returned to the dressing room after being hit by the ball. Captain Rohit had expressed hope after the second day’s play that Pant would take the field on the third day, but his not being able to take the field on the third day must be increasing the tension of Team India.
How did you get injured?
Ravindra Jadeja was bowling on the second day of the Bengaluru Test match. Devon Conway was at the striking end, but meanwhile Jadeja’s ball remained straight after being hit. Pant was not able to catch this ball properly, due to which the ball hit his right knee. Pant lay down on the ground the very next moment, due to which the game was stopped for a long time.
