Dhanteras 2024: The beginning of the festival of lights is Trayodashi of Kartik Krishna Paksha which we know as Dhanteras or Dhan Trayodashi. On this day, during the churning of the ocean, Lord Dhanvantari appeared with the pot of nectar and the gods considered him to be the god of health.
Also, due to the nectar pot in their hands, it is believed that Kubera Puja along with Dhanvantari is the day to attain wealth, glory, happiness, prosperity, fame and opulence, hence on this day, along with a healthy body, there is also a belief in wealth and illusion. To achieve this, worship Dhanvantari and Kubera as per the complete rituals and get the blessings of both of them.

This time Trayodashi Tithi i.e. Dhanteras will start on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 10:31 AM, Trayodashi Tithi will end on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 1:15 PM. According to Uday Tithi, the festival of Dhanteras will be celebrated on 29 October.
Kuber puja auspicious time – The auspicious time for Kuber Puja on Dhanteras will be from 6:31 pm to 8:13 pm on 29th October.
Dhanteras Puja Vidhi
- If you worship during this auspicious time, your bank balance will remain higher than expected and the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kuber will always be on you.
- Before starting the puja, do sanctification.
- For this, mix some rock salt in water and mop the place where you are going to worship.
- Then sprinkle rose or sandalwood mixed with Ganges water on it, which will make that place completely pure and fragrant.
- After this, first of all place the picture or statue of Shri Ganesh, Mahalakshmi and Kuber.
- Now do the sanctification. Take water in your right hand and touch it with your straight hand on your right ear, then left ear, then right eye and left eye and get purified by chanting the mantra “Om Apavitra Pavitraova Sarvavasthaam Gatoapiva, Ye Pathet Pundarikanksha Sa Bahyabhyaantar Shuchi Mantra.”
- Then light 11 or 21 lamps in a plate. Now chant the Deep Mantra Shubham Karoti Kalyanam Arogyam Sukh Sapand, Shatru Buddhivinashakam Deep Jyoti Namaste.
- Now make a heap of wheat and place two of these lamps on either side of the main gate of the office. Place the remaining lamps at another place in the office.
- Now sprinkle water first on the picture or statue of Shri Ganesh, then Maa Lakshmi and then Kuber. Offer flowers to them.
- First meditate on Lord Ganesha 11 times Om Ganganpataye Namah Chant the mantra.
- Now, with Akshat and flowers in hand, pray to Lord Dhanvantari to provide health to the entire family and office staff. Om Dhan Dhanvantarye Namah While chanting the mantra, offer Akshat and flowers to Dhanvantari.
- After this meditate on Goddess Lakshmi Om Shri Hru Kamle Kamlalaye Prasid Prasid Om Shri Hru Mahalakshmyai Namah Recite.
- After offering Naivedya, they should then pray to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kuber for wealth and grains and distribute the Naivedya to everyone in the form of Prasad and similarly after the puja at home, distribute the Naivedya among the family members.
- After worship, do shopping at auspicious time in the evening. On this day, donate lamps in the evening and decorate the entire house with lamps.
