The facility of accepting seats under the first round closed yesterday. Now candidates will have to pay the fee to confirm their seats or choose upgradation. More seats locked than capacity
According to India Today’s report, there are a total of 71600 UG seats in DU on which candidates can take admission. This does not include supernumerary seats. So far, 83,678 candidates have accepted the seats offered. That is, so far DU has received 11 percent applications from its total capacity, in which candidates have accepted the given college and course and have locked the choice.
Competition has increased
Not only this, about 10 thousand students have also paid the fees and have already confirmed their seats. Admission has been confirmed from their end. In such circumstances, this time the competition in DU has increased a lot. The deadline for paying the fees is 21 August but a large number of candidates have accepted the seats and paid the fees.
Where will I get admission
If we talk about DU colleges, there are a total of 71,600 seats in 1559 programs and college combinations in 69 colleges here. So far, 83,674 students have submitted their claim for these. They have accepted the program and college combination that was given to them in the first round.
more seats were assigned
The university had given seats to 97,387 candidates in the first round itself whereas the total number of seats in DU is around 71 thousand. Usually it happens that candidates do not accept the seats and they remain vacant. In such a situation, DU offered combinations to more candidates to start the first session on time and this time these offers have also been accepted.
what do the statistics say
According to the report, till 5 pm on August 18, 83,678 candidates had accepted the seats offered for DU UG admission, 10,016 had confirmed their admission by paying the fees. 2092 had frozen their admission and 5609 had requested for upgradation of college or course preference.
How many candidates in the first phase
The dream of studying in DU does not seem to be fulfilled so easily. A total of 2,45,287 candidates have applied under the first phase.
