The process of admission in Nursery, KG and Class 1 in Delhi schools has started from 28th November. The Education Department of Delhi Government has started providing the process and forms for admission in private unaided recognized schools. Let us tell you what special things need to be kept in mind during the race for admission.
For admission in nursery in Delhi schools, the minimum age required to be 3 years by 31st March. Similarly, for admission in KG, minimum age of 4 years is required and for admission in Class One, minimum age of 5 years is required. According to the Directorate of Education, the upper limit for admission in entry level classes has been fixed at four years for nursery, five for KG and six years for class one.
Registration fee can be charged only Rs 25
Under this campaign of Delhi Government, it will not be necessary to buy the school’s prospectus while purchasing the admission form. No one will be able to force anyone to buy school prospectus. All schools can charge up to Rs 25 from parents as form and registration fees.
This timeline for nursery admission
The last date for submission of registration form during Nursery Admission 2025-26 has been kept as 20th December for general category children. The Education Department will upload the forms of students registering for admission to general seats by January 3. After this, the marks of the children will be uploaded by 10th January. The first list of selected students will be released by January 17 and the window will be open from January 18 to 27 to answer allotment related questions. If needed, the education department can also release a second list on February 3. Also, application for solution can be made between 5th to 11th February. The entire admission process will be completed by March 14 under all circumstances.

These documents will be necessary
According to the Directorate of Education, during the admission of nursery, KG and class one, ration card or smart card containing the name of mother, father and child or documents like domicile certificate, voter card, electricity bill and Aadhaar will be useful. In such a situation, as many of these documents as possible should be kept available with you.

Computerized slip will be issued after the draw
According to the departmental circular, if there is a tie for admission during the application, then the slip will be issued with the help of computerized system. Students selected in the draw will be given admission. The entire process will be videographed during this draw. The school will keep that footage with itself so that it can be viewed if needed. Similarly, regarding age relaxation, the department has also clarified that minimum and maximum age relaxation of 30 days can be given. However, for this the parent will have to apply to the head or principal of the school.
