Tata Consultancy Services: If you are also retired from defense service then this news is for you. In fact, to deliver pension on time to the accounts of defense pensioners, a special system was used with the help of IT service company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Now even before its contract ends, the company has extended its contract for Sparsh (System for Pension Administration – Raksha) for three years. This is a project started by the Government of India to speed up the payment of pension to more than 3 million defense pensioners.
Giving this information on November 26, the company said that according to the contract, apart from maintaining the hardware and software of the IT service major program, some important systems have to be updated. TCS launches October 2020 pension processing on Sparsh. The result of the digital transformation of SPARSH was that the pension processing time frame was reduced from 12 to 18 months to just 14 days. Apart from this, for the first time pension payment is now given in 5-7 seven days.
The company said, “TCS’s support in implementing the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme has been a major achievement for it. OROP guarantees that defense personnel with the same rank and years of service will get the same pension. No matter when he retires.”
The company said OROP has been sent to 1.8 million eligible pensioners at a record speed of 15 days and all this has been possible thanks to TCS’s ability to reduce the processing time from six to eight months to just two weeks. The Sparsh program saved the government about Rs 250 crore annually by simplifying the pension distribution process and eliminating bank service charges. Is.
Government also benefits from touch
The touch system is a large-scale effort. Through this, lakhs of records have been digitized since 1914 and more than 30 lakh defense pensioners of all three branches of the armed forces have been included. TCS has included 50 institutions and 2302 offices. A total amount of more than Rs 282067 crore has been sent to pensioners. This has benefited the pensioners as well as the government.
TCS, apart from the ongoing Rs 15,000 crore deal with BSNL, is working with India’s top stock exchanges. At the same time, work is also being done to strengthen RTGS and NEFT. Along with this, it is bringing changes in the process of issuing passports. At the same time, it is also paying attention to many other works of the Central and State Government.
