Cricket Pitch Cow Dung Cakes Ranji Trophy: A strange incident has come to light from Ranji Trophy 2024-25. The third round of matches started from 26 October, which also included the clash between Bihar and Karnataka. This match is being played at Moin Ul Haq Stadium in Patna. On the first day, the entire Bihar team was limited to 143 runs, while Karnataka had scored 16 runs without losing any wicket. The second day’s play was affected by rain.
In fact, after the end of the first day’s play, the effect of Cyclone Dana was seen in many areas of Patna and Bihar. It rained heavily at Moin Ul Haq Stadium late night, due to which the ground became wet. It was just a few days ago when the pitch in Greater Noida was dried with the help of fans in the New Zealand-Afghanistan test match. But this time, not fans but cow dung cakes have been used to dry the pitch.
bowls set on fire on the pitch
On the morning of the second day of the Bihar vs Karnataka match, i.e. on 27 October, cow dung cakes were kept in a tray and set on fire. The attempt was to dry the pitch due to the heat of the bowls, but the efforts of the ground staff were not successful. When pictures of this incident came on social media, people not only targeted Bihar Cricket Association but also BCCI. This is the condition of many old grounds of India because in the Kanpur Test between India and Bangladesh, an attempt was made to dry the pitch with the help of mats.
By the end of the third day’s play in the Bihar vs Karnataka match, Karnataka has scored 287 runs at the loss of 7 wickets. For Karnataka, captain Mayank Agarwal made an important contribution in taking the team’s total lead to 144 runs by playing a century inning of 105 runs.
