According to the notification issued by the government oil companies, from today, there has been a big increase of about Rs 39 in the price of LPG cylinders in various cities of the country. However, this increase is only for 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders. There has been no change in the price of LPG cylinders for domestic use this time too.

After the latest hike, the price of a 19 kg cylinder in Delhi has become Rs 1,691.50. Earlier in the month of August also, the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder was increased by Rs 8-9. That is, the price of commercial LPG cylinders has been increased for the second consecutive month.
After the latest hike, commercial LPG cylinders will be available in Kolkata from today at Rs 1,802.50. People in Mumbai will now have to pay Rs 1,644 for this big cylinder, while in Chennai its price will now be Rs 1,855.
After 4 months of continuous reduction, prices started increasing
The price of 19 kg commercial cylinders was being reduced for four consecutive months, but now the prices are increasing for the last two months. Before August, on July 1, the price of 19 kg LPG cylinder was reduced by about Rs 30. In June, the price of 19 kg LPG cylinders was reduced by Rs 19. At the same time, the price of commercial LPG cylinders was reduced by Rs 19 from May 1.
The price of domestic cylinders has not changed for 6 months
There has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders since March. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a reduction of Rs 100 in the price of LPG cylinders on the occasion of Women’s Day (8 March 2024). A day before that, on March 7, the Modi government had also given relief to the common people in the matter of LPG cylinders. Then the cabinet had announced a subsidy of Rs 300 to the beneficiaries of PM Ujjwala Yojana till March 31, 2025. Since then, there has been no change in the price of 14 kg cylinders.
