A new problem has arisen for the country’s second largest IT company Infosys. American IT company Cognizant has made a serious allegation against Infosys of stealing trade secrets and has filed a case in a US court regarding this.
Lawsuit filed in Texas federal court
According to a report by ET, this case against the Indian IT company has been filed by Cognizant TriZetto. The case was filed in the Texas Federal Court on Friday. In it, Cognizant TriZetto has accused Infosys of stealing trade secrets. It says that Infosys has stolen information related to its healthcare insurance software.
There has been a clash over breaking the employee
This is not the first case when an Indian IT company and an American IT company have come face to face on an issue. Both the companies have clashed earlier as well. About eight months ago, both the companies came face to face when Infosys accused Cognizant of poaching employees in an unfair manner.
Infosys denied all the allegations
In the latest case, it is being said that Cognizant has accused Infosys in the lawsuit of developing competitive software by extracting data from the database in an incorrect manner. The report quoted an Infosys spokesperson as saying that the Indian company considers these allegations against it to be false. Infosys is aware of the lawsuit, but it rejects all the allegations. Infosys will defend itself by presenting its side in the court.
Cognizant also had a clash with Wipro
Apart from Infosys, Cognizant has also clashed with another Indian IT company Wipro. Wipro Limited and its former Chief Financial Officer Jatin Dalal settled the case about a month ago, in which Cognizant agreed to pay Dalal about $0.5 million as settlement payment and legal fee reimbursement.
