Bihar Women’s Asian Champions Trophy Rajgir: In the first semi-final of the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy being played in Rajgir, Bihar, China has entered the final by defeating Malaysia 3-1. Now it will face the winner of the India vs Japan match in the second semi-final on 20th November. China had taken a 3-0 lead at half-time, but the last two halves saw a tough fight between the two teams.
The first goal in the semi-final match came from China when Deng Qianchan dodged the goalkeeper and scored in the 10th minute. Just 7 minutes later, China converted the penalty corner into a goal. The second half had not even ended when China scored the third goal and put Malaysia on the backfoot. The only goal from Malaysia came in the 36th minute when the team converted a penalty corner.
Is the final match decided?
This is only the third time in the history of the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy that China has reached the final. China had earlier made it to the title match of the 2011 and 2016 tournaments, but once it was defeated by South Korea and on the second occasion, China was defeated by the Indian team. Now this year in the final he will face the winner of the India vs Japan match. China may not have won the Asian Champions Trophy yet, but China had won the silver medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics. In the final of the Olympics, it lost 3-1 to the Netherlands in the penalty shootout.
China looks to be a strong contender to win this Champions Trophy tournament as it is ranked higher than both India and Japan, who will face each other in the second semi-final. China is currently sixth in the rankings, while India and Japan are at 9th and 11th place respectively.
