Call Me Bae Review: Our dream is to reach where your helplessness begins, in this web series a guard says this to ‘Bae’ i.e. Ananya Pandey, and my question is that what was the helplessness that this series of 8 episodes was made and that too an episode of 35 to 40 minutes. This series had to be endured out of helplessness so that the time of the public could be saved.
Story- Bela Choudhary aka ‘Bae’ is the wife of a rich businessman, but suddenly one day she ends up on the streets, then she becomes an intern at a news channel and starts following a story, then what happens, is she able to complete that story, does she get her rich life back, if you want to watch this story in 8 episodes then we salute your courage, watch it on Amazon Prime Video.
How is the web series- After watching this series, I felt that its name should have been Call Me Fuck or Call Me Boring. 8 episodes are too much to bear. Some such scenes are shown that you feel that this is too much. The screenplay is very bad.
If the web series was finished in 4 episodes, it could have been a good series, but it has been unnecessarily dragged and the story is also not something special that can surprise you. So if you have absolutely free time and still have the courage after reading this review, then watch it.
Acting- Ananya Pandey’s acting is fine, at times she throws some punches that seem funny but this happens very rarely. She cannot do anything in front of the weak writing. Veer Das has done over the top acting as a news anchor and at times it seems that this is too much. Gurfateh Pirzada’s work is good, Varun Sood looks good, everyone else has also acted well but the writing of this series has become very weak.
Direction- Ishita Moitra has created this series and Colin D’Cunha has directed it and these people could not do their job properly, they should have worked more on the writing of the series. The series takes a lot of time to come to the point and by then the audience loses interest and their patience is exhausted.
Overall, this series does not pass your time, so if you want to watch it, watch it at your own risk, there are no theaters that if you go out, your money will be wasted. There are other good shows on Amazon, watch them.
