Cabinet Decision: The cabinet meeting of the Modi government at the Center was held today and three major decisions were taken in it. These decisions have been taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced this in the press conference today. In the first decision, it has been said to provide fortified rice to the poor and deprived by the year 2028.
1. First of all, under Nutrition Security, an initiative is being taken to provide fortified rice for the food of the most deprived sections of the society. The government is already providing cheap food grains to 80 crore people of the country under the Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. In the first decision of today’s cabinet, it has been decided to provide fortified rice under the Nutrition Security Initiative.
2. Apart from this, the Central Government has allocated Rs 4406 crore under special focus to build 2280 km border roads for Rajasthan and Punjab.
3. Along with this, the Central Government has issued open approval for National Maritime Heritage.
There will be an investment of Rs 17082 crore on this scheme of fortified rice.
An investment of Rs 17082 crore will be made on this scheme by the Central Government and its entire expenditure will be borne by the Central Government. This initiative is going to be of great benefit to the poor and deprived sections, especially women, children and the poor.
Fortified rice is helpful in fighting anemia
Especially the lower and deprived sections of the country will get special benefit from this scheme and it will prove helpful in fighting the iron deficiency that women face. Fortified rice is rice in which after harvesting the rice is made more nutritious by adding vitamins and minerals to it. Actually, during the milling and polishing process, most of the vitamins and minerals of rice are destroyed due to which its nutritional value gets reduced.
