Such a first study conducted on twin children states that taking daily protein and prebiotic supplement can improve memory among people above 60 years of age. Prebiotics are easily digested, which is also beneficial for our gut health.
What does study say
Research of King’s College London studied 36 twin joints over 60 years of age. They were divided into two different groups. One group was given daily prebiotics in protein powder and the other in protein powder Daily Placebo. The twins who used to take inulin or fructuligosacharides (FOS) inadvertently scored more in the test after three months. In addition, daily fiber supplements were associated with minor changes in intestine microbiomes among twin children. Bifidobacterium was beneficial in the twin children taking Inulin or FOS. Studies conducted on mice suggest that bifidobacterium explains guts and brain connections.
Elderly memory power enhance supplements
Jeriatric Medicine researcher Mary Ni Lochelen published in March 2024 at King’s College London, in this study that these changes were seen in just 12 weeks. They are helpful to increase the health and memory of the old people. Previous studies on mice suggest that high fiber supplements like Inulin and FOS can nourish the microbiom of the colon, which can cause good bacteria to grow.
Intestine and brain relationship
The relationship between the intestine and the brain has been talked about in many research. Some experts are also called the ‘second brain’ of the body. But how these two nervous system work together, it still remains a mystery.
