They are getting only that much salary, which somehow helps them to meet their food expenses. They are also struggling to meet basic needs like home, health and education. The situation is such that most of these people are not even able to think about saving. According to a report, they are getting a salary of only 20 thousand rupees or even less. Due to this, a large section is facing financial stress.
According to Work India, 57% of jobs are less than Rs 20,000
According to a report by Work India, 57.63 percent of blue collar jobs have a salary of Rs 20,000 or less. In such a situation, these people are not even being given the minimum salary. The report has shown that about 29.34 percent of blue collar jobs are in the middle income group. The salary in these ranges from Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000 per month. There is some improvement in the lives of people in this category. But, they are not able to achieve a comfortable standard of living. The report claims that people in this category are able to meet their daily expenses. But, they are not able to save.
Low-paying jobs will lead to economic and social challenges
Work India CEO Nilesh Dungarwal said that low-paying jobs are creating inequality. This will not only lead to economic challenges but will also have a negative impact on social stability. For this, we will have to create opportunities for skill development, salary reform and higher pay. The report states that only 10.71 percent of people are able to earn a salary of Rs 40,000 to Rs 60,000 per month. But, such positions are very few in blue collar jobs. Only 2.31 percent of blue collar jobs are able to give people an opportunity to earn more than Rs 60,000.
More than 24 lakh job postings of 2 years were analyzed
This report has been prepared on the basis of 2 years of job data on the WorkIndia platform. In this, more than 24 lakh job postings from various sectors have been analyzed. Field sales position is the highest paying job in blue collar jobs. After this comes back office job and tele calling. In these, more than 40 thousand rupees salary is being offered. Jobs in accounting and business development field also get good salary. Apart from this, chefs and receptionists are also earning good money. But, the worst salary is being given in delivery jobs.
