Next Pandemic Warning : Amidst the rapidly increasing cases of bird flu across the world, Spanish experts have warned that the next epidemic may come from America. According to La Vanguardia, infectious disease experts have said that the H5N1 avian flu is spreading rapidly in the Americas, so it could trigger a new pandemic in the near future.
Let us tell you that avian influenza is also called bird flu. Apart from birds, this virus has now reached cows and other animals. So far, there have been no cases of it spreading from one person to another in humans, but experts fear that such a mutant may emerge at any time or it may reach humans from animals. In such a situation, let us know how dangerous this epidemic can be.
Why can an epidemic come from America?
About 6 months ago, avian influenza had spread to more than 9 crore chickens in 48 states in America. This virus was also found in cows. Then Robert Redfield, former director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has also claimed that the next epidemic could be caused by bird flu. At a media briefing last week, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus also pointed to the rapid spread of H5N1 avian influenza in the Americas. These also include 58 human cases.
