Uttar Pradesh Assembly has taken an important step towards reform in the field of higher education. On Wednesday, the state assembly passed four major bills during its winter session. Under these bills, three new private universities and foreign campuses will be established in the state. This decision has been taken to transform the state into a leading education hub in the country.

Know the names and locations of new universities
According to the official document, the new universities include Vidya University, Meerut, Vivek University, Bijnor and Chandigarh University, Unnao, which are the new universities to be established in the state.
Students will get world class education
Highlighting its impact, Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said that higher education reforms will improve the image of Uttar Pradesh on both national and international forums.
Yogendra Upadhyay said that with the establishment of new universities and foreign campuses, students will get the opportunity to get world class education in their home state. They will no longer need to go out of the state, as high quality education will now be affordable and easily available. He said that till now only institutions registered in Uttar Pradesh could establish universities within the state. However, the new bills will open the doors for institutions, companies and trusts registered in other states to open private universities in Uttar Pradesh. He said that foreign universities recognized by the UGC will also be eligible to set up campuses in the state.
