There is news of great relief for the candidates appearing in the physical test of constable recruitment. The Central Selection Board (Constable Recruitment) has issued a notification stating that if the Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificate for BC and EBC category is not valid before the date of recruitment advertisement, Even then the candidates will not be deprived of the physical test.
The council has clarified that opinion has been sought from the General Administration Department regarding the cut-off date and guidelines of these certificates. The final decision will be taken after receiving instructions from the department. This notification of the Board has given relief to thousands of candidates, whose future was hanging in balance due to the date of these certificates.
After the notification, the candidates protesting at Gardnibagh protest site ended their protest. The candidates described this decision as a big step in their interest and said that the council has taken a commendable decision towards securing their future.
The journey of the recruitment process so far
The examination conducted for recruitment to 21,391 posts of constable was earlier canceled due to paper leak. 1,07,079 candidates were successful in the re-conducted examination. After the results declared on November 21, the physical test is starting from December 9, which will continue till March 13, 2025.
Confusion regarding NCL and EWS certificate
The Board had earlier stipulated that only candidates with NCL and EWS certificates of the calendar year 2022-2023 would be considered eligible for the physical test, as the vacancy advertisement was released in this period. However, the cut off date of the certificate was not clearly given in the advertisement. According to experts, even if the General Administration Department issues a guideline against these candidates, it will not be legally sustainable. He said that the result of the written examination was released category wise and in this the NCL and EWS candidates have been qualified for the physical test.
