In the story of the film, Jaya, who belongs to a Dalit family, is played by Daya Shankar Pandey, who works as a pyre burner at the cremation ground. Jaya is a very bubbly girl who falls in love with a Brahmin boy and talks of marriage begin. As soon as the boy’s family comes to know about the girl being a Dalit and her family’s work, the boy’s father throws them out of the house. Jaya’s story begins from here.
