Will India Travel to Pakistan for ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Although Pakistan will host the Champions Trophy 2025, there is a problem in hosting it. A total of 8 teams will participate in the tournament, but the Indian team has not played any match in Pakistan for the last one and a half decade. BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla has given a big statement on whether Team India will cross the border to play Champions Trophy or not.
Talking to the media, Rajeev Shukla said, “No decision has been taken yet on the Champions Trophy. But our policy has been that for international tours, permission is required from the central government. It completely depends on the government. Whether our team should go to play in any other country or not, we will implement whatever decision the government takes.” He further said that no such last date has been given by ICC to BCCI to give its reply.
India last played a cricket match on Pakistani soil in the Asia Cup 2008. After that, the teams of both the countries have come face to face only in the World Cup and Asia Cup. On the other hand, if we talk about Pakistan team, it came to India last year to play the 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup.
The sword hangs on Pakistan’s hosting!
ICC had allocated crores of rupees to Pakistan Cricket Board for hosting the Champions Trophy 2025. With the help of this money, the grounds of Karachi, Rawalpindi and Lahore are being given a new look. But looking at the current circumstances, it seems as if Pakistan’s hosting of the Champions Trophy is in danger. ICC has not yet given final approval to PCB’s proposed schedule. At the same time, the repeated arrival of ICC officials to take stock of Pakistan’s preparations has also become a matter of concern for the Pakistan Cricket Board.
