BCCI refuses Delhi Chandigarh offer for Champions Trophy: A few days ago, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had sent an offer to India to come to Pakistan to play Champions Trophy 2025. According to the offer, if Team India wants, it can do its set-up in Delhi or Chandigarh and return to its country immediately after playing the match in Pakistan. But a media report has claimed that BCCI has bluntly rejected this offer to the PCB.
On the other hand, a BCCI source said that the Indian Board has not received any such proposal from the PCB and the decision to send Team India to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy is completely in the hands of the Indian Government. Apart from this, there was no official statement from the PCB, but it was claimed that the Pakistan Cricket Board was already aware that India might refuse to come to their country to play the Champions Trophy. But PCB is not at all ready to adopt hybrid model.
A few days ago, some ICC officials had come to Pakistan to take stock of the preparations for the Champions Trophy. Now a meeting of ICC board members has been held in Dubai from 18-21 October. Regarding this meeting, a PCB source said that Pakistan wants to organize the Champions Trophy in its country at any cost. Apart from this, the members of Pakistan Cricket Board have already prepared such a mental situation that they will have to hear about India not playing in the Champions Trophy in the ICC meeting.
It has also been told that the PCB does not want to lose the hosting of the final match of the Champions Trophy under any circumstances, even if India qualifies for the title clash. Let us tell you that according to the proposed schedule of Champions Trophy 2025, all the matches of India are to be played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and this ground has also been approved for the final.
