BCCI Meets IPL Owners: The meeting of BCCI officials with IPL team owners remains a topic of discussion. This meeting was to be held on July 31 at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai and now a media report has revealed that questions have been raised in the meeting on conducting the mega auction. Some people, including Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner Shahrukh Khan, are in favor of not conducting the mega auction. Meanwhile, Shahrukh also clashed with Punjab Kings co-owner Ness Wadia.
Shahrukh’s heated debate
Cricbuzz has released a report, which states that Shah Rukh Khan is not at all in favor of holding the mega auction. A BCCI source said that Khan at one time got into a heated argument with Punjab Kings co-owner Ness Wadia. The reason for their argument was how many players should be retained. On one hand, Khan was in favor of retaining more players, but Wadia does not want teams to be allowed to retain more players.
Consensus on whether a mega auction should be held or not will decide how many players should be retained. If BCCI decides not to hold a mega auction, perhaps retention will not be needed. Let us tell you that Kiran Kumar and Parth Jindal of Delhi Capitals, Sanjeev Goenka of Lucknow Super Giants, Rupa Gurunath of Chennai Super Kings, Pratamesh Mishra of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Manoj Badale of Rajasthan Royals were also present in this meeting. Apart from these, many team owners attended the meeting through video conference, among which Mumbai Indians was also one. After the meeting, Delhi Capitals owner Parth Jindal said that he is in support of the mega auction. He was shocked to see the debate on this issue, but personally he has supported it.
