IPL Auction 2025: Before the IPL mega auction, BCCI and IPL Governing Council have made major changes. After these new rules, IPL will change completely. BCCI has approved new rules showing strictness towards foreign players. Now after this new rule, if any foreign player does not register for the mega auction then he will be ineligible for the auction. The names of such players will not appear in the auction and there will be no bidding on them.
Now the clampdown will be tightened on foreign players
Till now it has been seen that despite getting huge amount in IPL auction, foreign players have been opting out of the season citing injury or other problems before the start of the season. The problems of IPL teams related to this have been increasing, but now BCCI has adopted a strict stance. Now if any player is bought in the IPL auction and he withdraws his name after that, then that player will be banned for 2 seasons. After this decision of BCCI, it will be easier for IPL teams to make their better strategy.
Let us tell you that recently BCCI and IPL Governing Council announced new rules before the mega auction. IPL teams will be able to retain 5 players before the mega auction. Apart from this, IPL teams will have Right to Match card. Through which IPL teams will be able to re-add one of their players in the auction. In this way the teams will have a chance to include their old 6 players back. At the same time, it is believed that IPL mega auction can be organized in the month of November-December.
