New Hand Baggage Policy: If you are currently thinking about air travel to go somewhere, then this news is for you. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has come up with a new policy for hand baggage. It is important to know about this new rule, otherwise you may have to face difficulties at the airport.
In fact, in view of the increasing number of passengers at security checkpoints, BCAS and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) have tightened the hand baggage policy, which now all airlines will have to follow. Under this new rule, now passengers will be able to take only one hand bag with them inside the plane. Whether it is a domestic or international flight, you will now be allowed to carry only one hand bag.
The weight of the bag should be only up to 7 kg.
According to the new hand baggage policy of BCAS, now passengers will be able to carry only one hand or cabin bag inside the flight. Air India said, passengers traveling in economy or premium economy class are allowed to carry one hand baggage weighing up to 7 kg, while for those traveling in first or business class it is around 10 kg. As per the rules set by the airlines, the total dimension of the hand bag should not exceed 55 cm (21.6 inches) in height, 40 cm (15.7 inches) in length and 20 cm (7.8 inches) in width.
These passengers will get discount
Passengers who have booked tickets before May 2, 2024, will be kept out of the scope of this rule for the time being. The new hand baggage policy will be applicable to any changes made after this date. Along with this, if a passenger wants to carry a purse or laptop bag with him, then its weight should not be more than 3 kg.
